Since 2011 I have done a great many proofreading and editing jobs for academics and doctorands, mainly Italian and Spanish but also German, Romanian, Chinese and Japanese.
Before 2011 I was, in roughly reverse order:
- Editor-in-chief of large amounts of academic learning materials [10+ modules] on one of the biggest Distance Learning MSc programmes in the UK, of which I was Programme Leader
- A university teacher and tutor
- A teacher-trainer
- An education officer
- An author of educational resources
- and first of all a schoolteacher, in Africa and the UK.
An Associate of SfEP, the Society for Editors and Proofreaders.
In 2011 I deepened my expertise in the English language by becoming CELTA qualified to teach it.
